January 2025 marks the one year anniversary of POPKO WINGS in the Žizkov Tower

January 2025 marks the one year anniversary of POPKO WINGS in the Žizkov Tower observatory! Last year at this time, we had the U.S. Embassy diplomats and Tower Representatives cutting the ribbon with American artist APRIL POPKO to officially inaugurate the permanent installation of Popko Wings. A symbol of peace, hope, courage and freedom, representing a bridge between cultures, nations, and the space between heaven and earth. Popko created a double set of wings, permanently displayed 93 meters above the Prague city skyline. The wings are illuminated and adorned with thousands of real feathers, hand-designed metallic mesh and glass crystals. Hidden in this art piece are the symbolic angel numbers, 11 and 22, as signs of awakening, protection, and encouragement to spread our own figurative wings. Until the end of January, Popko also has a solo art exhibit, displaying original abstract paintings in the observatory and in her Prague art studio.
